Félix Domingo Estrada Catoyra, nado en Porto Príncipe (hoxe Camagüey), Cuba, o 26 de novembro de 1853 e finado na Coruña o 14 de marzo de 1938, foi un médico militar e escritor galego en lingua castelá, tesoureiro da Real Academia Galega.[1]

Traxectoria

Fillo de Domingo Estrada, natural de Betanzos, e Ramona Catoyra. Estudou Medicina e Farmacia na Universidade de Santiago de Compostela e na Habana. En 1877 ingresou no Corpo de Sanidade do Exército, e ao ano seguinte embarcou para Cuba. Foi catedrático de Historia Natural e Zootecnia da Escola de Agricultura de Cuba.

Regresou a España en 1895. Ascendeu a maior e pasou ao Hospital Militar da Coruña. En 1906 foi destinado a Segovia. En 1910 foi nomeado subinspector médico, e regresou á Coruña ao ano seguinte como médico de Capitanía e xefe de servizos do Hospital Militar, retirándose en 1915.

A proposta de Florencio Vaamonde, Uxío Carré Aldao e Andrés Martínez Salazar, o 8 de agosto de 1921, ingresou na Real Academia Galega, co discurso Algunas consideraciones sobre la transcendencia que para la transformación social de Galicia tuvo el reinado de los Reyes Católicos[2], respondido por Juan Barcia Caballero, e foi tesoureiro desa institución desde 1924 ata 1938.[3] De 1924 a 1926 foi presidente do Círculo de Artesáns, sobre o que publicou o libro Contribución a la Historia de La Coruña. Entre 1931 e 1936 foi concelleiro e tenente de alcalde do Concello coruñés.
