東部地区[1]（とうぶちく）は、愛知県岡崎市東部の地区である。

地理

現在の岡崎市南部を占める地区である。平成の大合併で額田町（現・額田地区）を合併する以前は南東部に該当していた。

  • 1601年（慶長6年） - 東海道藤川宿が開設される。
  • 1648年（慶安元年） - 藤川宿の拡大のため、山中郷舞木村[注釈 1]の住民を移住させ、藤川村の加宿として市場村を開設。藤川宿は、藤川村の中町と西町、市場村の東町の3町で形成されることとなる。

  • 1878年（明治11年）
    • 藤川村、市場村、蓑川村が合併し、藤川村となる。
    • 竜泉寺村と尾尻村が合併し、竜泉寺村となる。
  • 1889年（明治22年）10月1日
    • 竜泉寺村と桑谷村が合併し、竜谷村となる。
    • 羽栗村、池金村、舞木村、山綱村が合併し、山中村となる。
    • 上衣文村、大幡村、鶫巣村、鉢池村、本宿村が合併し、本宿村となる。
  • 1955年（昭和30年）2月1日 - 岡崎市に編入される。
