Ketoprak merupakan makanan khas Indonesia yang menggunakan ketupat sebagai bahan utamanya. Biasanya, ketoprak dijajakan menggunakan kereta dorong di jalan-jalan atau kaki lima. Makanan khas ini banyak ditemui di wilayah Jadetabek dan Kota Cirebon, Jawa Barat.

Asal-usul

Nama makanan ini diambil dari bunyi piring yang terjatuh. Awalnya, penjual makanan mencoba untuk membuat makanan baru yang berbeda agar laris dijual. Ia membuat makanan dari bihun, tahu dan ketupat yang disiram oleh bumbu. Setelah selesai menghidangkan makanan tersebut ke atas piring, tangannya tergelincir dan membuat makanan buatannya terjatuh. Piring yang terjatuh itu mengeluarkan bunyi 'ketuprak'. Oleh karenanya, makanan ini diberi nama ketoprak. Ada pula yang mengatakan jika nama ketoprak merupakan akronim dari ketupat dan toge yang digeprak.[1]

Cara pembuatan

Bahan-bahan utamanya adalah tahu, ketupat atau lontong, bihun, mentimun, tauge. Bisa juga ditambahkan telur rebus. Bahan-bahan utama disiram dengan saus kacang, kecap manis, dan taburan bawang merah goreng. Dapat pula dihidangkan dengan tambahan kerupuk atau emping melinjo. Beberapa versi ada pula yang menyertakan tempe sebagai komponennya. Alat yang digunakan untuk mengolah ketoprak tidaklah sulit, yakni hanya butuh ulekan dan pisau.
