Kuwah Pliek U khas Aceh

Kuwah pliek u adalah salah satu masakan seperti gulai berasal dari Aceh. Masakan ini memiliki bahan dasar ampas dari sisa minyak kelapa tua yang telah melalui proses pemerasan minyaknya.[1] Pada umumnya, masakan ini dilengkapkan dengan daun dan buah melinjo, kacang panjang, kacang tanah, daun pepaya, daun singkong, rebung kecombrang,[1]; kadang kala disajikan dengan chu (sejenis siput yang hidup di sungai). Dalam praktiknya, masyarakat Aceh juga menambahkan sayuran lain untuk masakan ini seperti kacang panjang, pepaya muda dan nangka muda. Selain itu untuk menguatkan rasa, asam sunti (belimbing wuluh yang dikeringkan setelah dikukus bersama garam) ditambahkan pula sebagai bumbu khasnya.

Masakan ini biasanya disajikan dalam beberapa acara dalam lingkungan masyarakat Aceh, seperti hajatan.[2]

Makanan dengan bumbu ini biasanya memiliki aroma mirip minyak kelapa yang tersimpan lama.
