滕公栅栏，位于北京市西城区车公庄大街6号北京行政学院院内，是明朝至中华民国时期的天主教墓地，安葬了许多来华西方天主教传教士及其他天主教教士、教民。现仅存利玛窦墓等一小部分。墓地旁边原有马尾沟教堂。

历史

滕公栅栏位于平則門二里沟。原為明初開國重臣滕國公孟善的私人花園。因以柵欄圍繞，故人稱“滕公柵欄”[1]。明朝中期花園被一位杨姓太监購得。後杨因罪入狱，为保产业而将其改建为供奉地藏菩萨的“仁恩寺”。後来成为西方传教士在东方安息的一个最为集中的所在。

依照明朝的惯例，客死中国的传教士必须迁回澳门神学院墓地安葬。萬曆三十八年（1610年）5月，利玛窦病逝于北京后，其他传教士和利玛窦受洗的教徒都希望可以得到皇帝的恩准，让利玛窦安葬于北京，藉此来认可教会和天主教在中国的合法存在。为此，耶稣会士庞迪我神父向万历帝上呈奏疏，希望能破例赐地埋葬利玛窦[2]。

虽然朝廷中有人反对，但该事在内阁大学士叶向高等人的多方努力下，还是很快得到了万历皇帝的照准。1611年，由徐光启主持，皇帝赐物，利玛窦安葬于平则门外二里沟的滕公栅栏，教会无需付款便可拥有这份产业。

自利玛窦入葬于此后，明末相继有邓玉函（德國籍）、羅雅谷（意大利籍）、清初則有龙华民（意大利籍）、汤若望（德國籍）、南怀仁（比利时籍）、郎世宁（意大利籍）等著名传教士、科学家、工程师、画家安葬在此。至19世纪末，安葬于滕公栅栏的欧洲传教士已逾百名。

1949年中华人民共和国成立之后，外籍天主教神父被迫撤离了中国，栅栏墓地由中国天主教会人士管理。1954年，中共北京市委出资人民幣10万元购买了除教堂以外的所有建筑，以筹建中共北京市委党校。墓地内的墓碑，除利玛窦、汤若望、南怀仁的三块依照国务院宗教事务局指示在原地保留，龙华民等三尊石碑移至教堂后院外，其他教士教民的遗骨碑石全部迁往海淀区西北旺乡的16亩新开的墓地（即北京天主教陵园）。以利玛窦为例，文化大革命期间，墓碑被紅衛兵平埋于地下，让其“永世不得翻身”。1973年，马尾沟教堂被拆，墓碑无人照管。1978年10月，邓小平、李先念等五位党和国家领导人批准重修利玛窦墓。1979年后，墓地得到了修复，并被列为北京市文物保护单位。

如今公墓东边墓碑数十块。西边有墓碑三块：面向墓穴，中间为利玛窦，左右首分别为汤若望、南怀仁。利玛窦的墓碑上刻着“耶稣会士利公之墓”，有拉丁文和中文两种文字：“利先生，讳玛窦，号西泰，大西洋意大里亚国人。自幼入会真修，明万历壬午年航海首入中华行教。万历庚子年来都，万历庚戍年卒，在世五十九年，在会四十二年。”[3]
