The brig was wrecked on the Longsand, in the North Sea off the coast of Essex . She was on a voyage from Newcastle upon Tyne , Northumberland to Boulogne , Pas-de-Calais , France. She was refloated but found to be severely leaky and was beached on the Longsand. Otterburn was abandoned the next day, her crew getting aboard the Kentish Knock Lightship ( Trinity House ), from where they were rescued by the yacht Argus ( Trinity House ).[ 44]
