אלבר גולסטרנד (בשוודית: Allvar Gullstrand;‏ 5 ביוני 1862 – 28 ביולי 1930) היה אופתלמולוג ואופטיקאי שוודי.

ביוגרפיה

גולסטרנד נולד בלנדסקרונה, שוודיה. בין השנים 1894–1927 היה פרופסור לאופתלמולוגיה ולאופטיקה באוניברסיטת אופסלה. הוא השתמש בשיטות מתחום המתמטיקה הפיזיקלית למחקר של תמונות אופטיות ושל השתקפות האור בעין. על עבודתו בתחום זה, הוא קיבל פרס נובל לפיזיולוגיה או רפואה ב-1911.

גולסטרנד ידוע גם בשל מחקריו על אסטיגמציה ובשל שיפור של האופטלמוסקופ ושל עדשות לשימוש לאחר הסרת קטרקט מהעין.

הוא נבחר לחבר באקדמיה המלכותית השוודית למדעים ב-1905 ושימש כחבר בוועדת הפרסים של האקדמיה בתחום הפיזיקה. בתקופת שירותו בוועדה, הוא השתמש במעמדו כדי לבלום את איינשטיין מלקבל פרס נובל לפיזיקה על תורת היחסות, שגולסטרנד האמין שהיא שגויה.

גולסטרנד נישא לסיגנה ברייטהולץ (1862–1946) ב-1885. הוא נפטר בסטוקהולם ושם נקבר בבית הקברות "נורה בגרבנינגספלאצן".
