רוברט פרנסיס פרשגוט (באנגלית: Robert Francis Furchgott‏; 4 ביוני 1916 - 19 במאי 2009) היה ביוכימאי יהודי-אמריקאי שזכה בפרס נובל לפיזיולוגיה או לרפואה לשנת 1998 יחד עם לואיס איגנרו ופריד מורד על גילוי התכונות של חנקן חמצני (NO) באיתות תאי.

חייו

נולד בצ'ארלסטון, דרום קרוליינה, למשפחה יהודית שהייתה בבעלותה חנות כלבו. למד כימיה באוניברסיטת קרוליינה הצפונית בצ'אפל היל וקיבל תואר דוקטור לביוכימיה מאוניברסיטת נורת'ווסטרן. היה חבר סגל אקדמי בפקולטה לרפואה של אוניברסיטת קורנל, אוניברסיטת וושינגטון בסנט לואיס ובאוניברסיטת מדינת ניו-יורק (אנ'), לימד בעיקר פרמקולוגיה והגיע לדרגת פרופסור.

היה חבר האקדמיה הלאומית למדעים, זכה בפרסים רבים על מחקריו, בהם פרס לסקר ופרס נובל לפיזיולוגיה או לרפואה. היה נשוי ואב לשלוש בנות.
