约翰·维拉德·米尔诺（英語：John Willard Milnor，1931年2月20日—），美国数学家。他的主要贡献在于微分拓扑、K-理论和动力系统及其著作。他曾获得1962年度菲尔兹奖、1989年度沃尔夫奖及2011年度阿贝尔奖。

米尔诺出生于美国新泽西州奥兰治。在普林斯顿大学就读本科期间，他参加了1949年和1950年普特南数学竞赛（英语：William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition）并取得了前5名的成绩，并意外地只用几天的时间证明出了法利-米尔诺定理（英语：Fary–Milnor theorem）^[1]。

之后，他在进入普林斯顿大学的研究生院，并完成了论文《Isotopy of Links》。获得博士学位后，他继续在普林斯顿工作。

1962年，米尔诺因他在微分拓扑领域的工作获得菲尔兹奖。之后，他又获得了美国国家科学奖章（1967年）、Leroy P Steele Prize（1982年，2004年，2011年）、沃尔夫奖（1989年）。他还著有许多出色的书籍。这些书通俗，简洁而又严谨。

• 1949年，18岁的米尔诺意外解决了波兰数学家卡罗尔·博尔苏克（英语：Karol Borsuk）提出的一个有关根据曲率判断扭结可解性的猜想。他并将其写成论文《论扭结的全曲率》（On the Total Curvature of Knots）投给名刊《数学年刊》，次年获得发表。当时老师阿尔伯特·塔克尔（Albert Tucker）在微分几何课堂上将这个猜想告诉他们后才不过几天，初出茅庐的米尔诺就给出了自己的解答。匈牙利数学家伊斯特凡·法利（英语：István Fáry）差不多同时发现了类似的解法。这就是后来的法利-米尔诺定理（英语：Fary–Milnor theorem）。^[1]
