Ilokelesia é um gênero de dinossauro abelissaurídeo. Seu nome significa "lagarto comedor de carne".

Ele já foi considerado um ceratossauro basal, mas estudos sugeriram que ele era um abelissaurídeo verdadeiro. Seus fósseis foram achados na Argentina.[1]

O Ilokelesia era um terópode de porte médio, com cerca de 5 metros de comprimento e pesando em torno de 250 quilos. Possuía características típicas de outros terópodes, como dentes afiados e garras nas patas dianteiras. No entanto, diferenciava-se de outros terópodes por possuir uma bacia mais larga e uma cauda curta em comparação com o comprimento do corpo.

Os estudos sobre o Ilokelesia ainda são limitados devido à escassez de fósseis encontrados, mas sua descoberta fornece mais informações sobre a diversidade dos terópodes que habitaram a região que hoje é a Argentina. Acredita-se que o Ilokelesia fosse um predador que se alimentava de pequenos animais, como lagartos e mamíferos primitivos.

Apesar de não ser tão conhecido quanto outros dinossauros, o Ilokelesia é importante para a compreensão da evolução desses animais durante o período Cretáceo e para a compreensão da diversidade de fauna que habitava a região sul da América do Sul naquela época.
