ג'וזף אדוארד מאריי (באנגלית: Joseph Edward Murray;‏ 1 באפריל 1919 – 26 בנובמבר 2012) היה מנתח פלסטי אמריקאי שביצע את השתלת הכליה האנושית המוצלחת הראשונה בתאומים הזהים ריצ'רד ורונלד הריק ב-23 בדצמבר 1954.[1][2][3]

מורי חלק את פרס נובל לפיזיולוגיה או רפואה בשנת 1990 עם דונל תומאס "על עבודתם בשטח השתלות איברים ותאים".

ביוגרפיה

מאריי נולד לוויליאם א' ומרי (לבית דפסקוואל) מאריי, וגדל במילפורד, מסצ'וסטס. משפחתו היא ממוצא אירי ואיטלקי. בצעירותו הצטיין בכדורגל, הוקי קרח ובייסבול. בקולג' המעיט באימונים, ולמד פילוסופיה ואנגלית. מאריי קיבל תואר במדעי הרוח ב-1940. לאחר מכן למד בבית הספר לרפואה בהרווארד. לאחר שסיים את לימודיו ברפואה, מאריי החל את ההתמחות שלו בבריגהאם אנד וימנ'ס הוספיטל. במקביל, הוא התקבל לחיל הרפואה של צבא ארצות הברית.[4]
