西郷町（にしごうちょう）は、愛知県瀬戸市祖母懐連区の町名。丁番を持たない単独町名である。

地理

瀬戸市の中央部に位置する^[8]。西を蛭子町、北を末広町・陶生町、東を東郷町・仲郷町、南を祖母懐町と隣接している^[8]。
住宅・小売商店・陶磁器関係の小工場が混在している^[8]。

町名の由来

この地は、明治時代の瀬戸村字郷の一部であり、郷地区の西部にあたることによって名付けられたとされる^[11]。

沿革

1942年（昭和17年）1月9日 - 瀬戸市大字瀬戸字郷・上ノ切の各一部により、同市西郷町として成立^[2]。
