The Weekend Sun è un quotidiano regionale con sede a Tauranga, in Nuova Zelanda. È stato lanciato da SunMedia nel 2000 insieme a Coast & Country News e alla rivista Waterline.[2] Nel marzo 2024 il Weekend Sun è stato acquisito da New Zealand Media and Entertainment (NZME) nell’ambito dell’acquisizione di SunMedia.[3]

Il Weekend Sun viene pubblicato ogni venerdì da NZME nella regione della Baia dell’Abbondanza.[4] Nel settembre 2011 aveva una tiratura di 63.100 copie distribuite nelle case.[5]
