Raimundo García Domínguez, máis coñecido como Borobó, nado en Pontecesures o 10 de xullo de 1916 e finado en Santiago de Compostela o 28 de agosto de 2003,[1] foi un escritor e xornalista galego.

Traxectoria

Fillo do médico Víctor García García-Lozano e Dolores Domínguez Sierra.[2] Estudou o bacharelato en Pontecesures e despois cursou Filosofía e Letras na universidade de Santiago de Compostela. Durante a Segunda República ingresou en Izquierda Republicana, pero marchou con Xoán Xesús González para formar Vanguardia de Izquierda Republicana, da que foi secretario de actas. En 1936 a guerra civil española sorprendeuno en Santander, onde asistía á Universidade Internacional de Verán. Foi trasladado a Madrid e participou na defensa da cidade en unidades de artillaría e de transporte. Afiliouse á Unión General de Trabajadores, e comezou a súa faceta xornalística, con colaboracións na redacción de Estímulo, voceiro das unidades artilleiras en que participou. Cando xa remataba a guerra afiliouse ao PSOE.

Rematada a guerra, pasou por diversos campos de concentración, tivo que facer o servizo militar en Marrocos e incorporouse á actividade clandestina do seu partido. Fixo de enlace entre os socialistas galegos e a dirección do PSOE en Madrid. Retomou o seu traballo xornalístico participando na publicación Finisterre e, entre 1944 e 1946, en El Español, La Estafeta Literaria, Fantasía e Madrid.

En 1946 volveu a Galicia e incorporouse á redacción de La Noche, do que foi director, e no cal deu cabida a novos escritores que acabarían sendo coñecidos polo alcume de Xeración 'La Noche'. Entre 1949 e 1966 foi o cronista oficial de Compostela.[3] Ocupou a dirección de El Correo Gallego en 1960, e máis tarde marchou novamente a Madrid, e traballou en Agencia EFE até a súa xubilación. Na última parte da súa vida, retirouse a Trevonzos, unha pequena aldea de Boiro dende a que se ve a vila de Rianxo.

Aínda que o de Borobó é o seu máis coñecido pseudónimo, tamén foi coñecido por outros pseudónimos e heterónimos, entre eles os de Raimundo Lozano, J. Sierra, Ánxel Novo, Xoán Porreás, Tina ou La Piñeira.
