Amancio Prada, nado o 5 de febreiro de 1949 en San Pedro de Devesas (Ponferrada), comarca do Bierzo, é un destacado cantautor español.

Traxectoria

Fillo de labradores, estudou Socioloxía na Universidade da Sorbona (París). Alí mesmo, na Francia, xa se deu a coñecer aparecendo na televisión e nas radios francesas, e mesmo gravou o seu primeiro disco Vida e morte (Alvarès, 1974). A partir de aquí comezou unha longa etapa de produción de discos, xunto con numerosas actuacións por todo o mundo, pois participou en concertos por todo o territorio nacional e internacional (Roma, Estocolmo, Xenebra, Buenos Aires, Nova York, Lisboa, Caracas, Porto, Chicago, México, Rabat, Colonia, Utrecht, Rávena, Atenas, Bruxelas, Medellín...)

Amancio Prada pódese considerar como un dos mellores embaixadores da lírica galega no mundo (Rosalía de Castro, Álvaro Cunqueiro, diversos trobadores galaico-portugueses, cancións populares etc), razón que expuxo o xurado para que gañase o XXI Premio Celanova Casa dos Poetas en 2005 ou o Premio Xarmenta en 2006.
