Vilagarcía de Arousa é unha estación de tren de Adif, situada na cidade de Vilagarcía de Arousa, na provincia de Pontevedra. Localízase na Praza da Estación, ao norte da cidade, a escasos 100 metros da estación de autobuses e a 600 m do porto, cara ao que parte un pequeno ramal.

Historia

Foi inaugurada o 24 de xaneiro 1956, converténdose na principal estación da vila, que até aquela data tiña a estación de Carril como terminal de referencia.[1][2]

En 2005 foi acondicionada a súa contorna ante o aumento do tráfico de viaxeiros e a posta en marcha das primeiras obras para o Eixe Atlántico de Alta Velocidade.[3] En 2009 houbo un proxecto para derrubar parcialmente o predio de viaxeiros e construír un novo recibidor que finalmente foi desbotado.[4]

En 2013 botaron a andar as obras para anovar o ramal portuario.[5]

En 2014 a súa xestión foi asignada á recentemente creada Adif Alta Velocidad para a conclusión do Eixe Atlántico de Alta Velocidade.[6] Ese mesmo ano, Ana Pastor, daquela ministra de Fomento, asistía na estación á inauguración do desdobramento da liña entre Vilagarcía e Pontevedra.[7]

A comezos de 2017 remataron as obras de prolongación do ramal portuario, que parte desta estación cara ao peirao do Ferrazo.[8] Os datos achegados ese ano por Renfe desprendían un aumento do número de viaxeiros na estación arousá que xa se viña producindo anos atrás.[9]
