Michael Kogălniceanu (Dacoromanice Mihail Kogălniceanu; natus Iassiis die 6 Septembris 1817; mortuus Lutetiae die 20 Iunii 1891) fuit historicus, scriptor, diurnarius legatus atque vir publicus Dacoromanicus.

Iuventus et munus

Post scholam finitam Kogălniceanu ab anno 1834 Lutetiae et Berolini historiae studebat. Anno 1838 in patriam rediit. Deinde apud universitatem Iassii docebat et director threatri fuit et consiliarius principis Alexandri Ioannis Cuza erat. Annis 1887 - 1890 praeses Academiae Dacoromanae fuit.

Revolutionarius

Sed ab anno 1843/44 propter consilia eius liberalia partim Lutetiae vivebat, partim et in patria incarceratus est. Inter res novas anno 1848 inter insurgentes fuit et in Bucovinam fugere coactus est. Sed ab anno 1849 saepe administer fuit. a die 24 Octobris 1863 usque ad 6 Februarii 1865 Primus minister Romaniae erat, praeterea i.a. administer rerum internarum (annis 1863/64, 1868 - 1870, 1878, 1879/80), administer agriculturae anno 1864/65 atque administer rerum exterarum annis 1869, 1876 et 1877/78.
