Yohanes 20:21 adalah ayat kedua puluh satu dari pasal kedua puluh dari Injil Yohanes dalam Perjanjian Baru. Ayat tersebut mencatat amanat Yesus kepada para murid pada penampilan pertama-Nya setelah kebangkitan.

εἶπεν οὖν αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς πάλιν Εἰρήνη ὑμῖν· καθὼς ἀπέσταλκέν με ὁ πατήρ κἀγὼ πέμπω ὑμᾶς

Terjemahan:

Maka kata Yesus sekali lagi: "Damai sejahtera bagi kamu! Sama seperti Bapa mengutus Aku, demikian juga sekarang Aku mengutus kamu.

Analisis

Catatan penampilan pertama Yesus dalam Injil Yohanes (20:19–23l Yohanes 21:13) menampilkan kemiripan dengan catatan dalam Injil Lukas (Lukas 24:36–49), yang terjadi di Yerusalem pada sore kebangkitan-Nya dari kematian.[2]

Kata Damai sejahtera bagi kamu (bahasa Yunani Kuno: Εἰρήνη ὑμῖν, Eirēnē hymin[1]) adalah kata sambutan Yahudi tradisional yang umum[3] yang masih dipakai sampai saat ini (shalom alekem atau שלום לכם shalom lekom;[1] contoh 1 Samuel 25:6[4]),[5] yang juga dikatakan oleh Yesus dalam Yohanes 20:19–26.[4]

Kata "Sama seperti Bapa mengutus Aku, demikian juga sekarang Aku mengutus kamu" menyiratkan bahwa karya misionaris dari para murid bergantung pada misi Yesus, Putra Allah.[6] Pengulangan kata damai menunjukkan pengaruh dari amanat tersebut,[7] Setiap injil mencatat amanat dari Yesus setelah kebangkitan.[5]
