Balçık (Rumence: Bălţi), Moldova Cumhuriyetinin en büyük ikinci şehridir. Rumence Bălţi adının anlamı "balçık"tan gelir.

Avrupa'nın yeşil alanı bol şehirlerinden biri Balçık, aynı zamanda önemli bir ticaret ve sanayi merkezidir. Dinyester Nehrinin bir kolu olan Răut nehri kıyısında yer alan şehrin beş ilçesi vardır. Şehrin belediye başkanı Vasile Panciuc'tir. Şehir 78 km²'lik bir alandan oluşur.2004 yılı rakamlarına göre 127.000 kişinin yaşadığı şehirdeki etnik dağılım şu şekildedir:

Şehrin ekonomiside gıda ve sanayi önemli yer tutar. Özellikle un, şeker ve şarap üretimi; makine ve mobilya sanayi ekonomide önemli role sahiptir. 1989'dan sonra ise nüfus ihtiyaçlarını karşılayacak şekilde hizmet sektöründe gelişmeler olmuştur.
