Oddmund Hoel (1910–1983) var en norsk jurist, lensmann og politiker (Venstre) fra Oppdal. Han var stortingsrepresentant for Sør-Trøndelag i tre perioder fra 1954 til 1965.[1]

Liv og virke

Hoel var sønn av lensmannen i Oppdal og han tok middelskole og underoffiserskole i 1930 og ble student i 1935.[2] I 1941 ble han cand.jur. Han var lensmannsbetjent i Oppdal 1930–1941. Fra mai 1945 ble han først konstituert, siden fast tilsatt som lensmann i Oppdal,[3] en stilling han hadde til han ble pensjonist i 1975.[4] Han hadde også en militær karriere, i 1931 ble han sersjant, i 1933 fenrik, og i 1945 løytnant.[5] Under krigen var han advokat i Oppdal (1941 til 1945), et virke han tok opp igjen som pensjonist og praktiserte til han døde.[6] Som lensmann var han også forretningsfører ved A/S Oppdal elektrisitetsverk.[7]

På Stortinget var han medlem av Militærkomiteen i hele sin stortingsperiode. Han var også delegat til NATOs parlamentariske forsamling alle periodene på Stortinget. Han var også varamedlem til Den utvidede utenriks- og konstitusjonskomité,

Hoel satt i Oppdal kommunestyre fra 1945 til 1959,[8] og var formann i bygningsrådet i Oppdal fra 1945 til 1954. Han var formann i Sør-Trøndelag Venstre 1956–57 og formann i Norges lensmannslag 1955–1962.

Odd Einar Dørum husker Hoel som en av få Venstre-politikere som var for plassering av atomvåpen på norsk jord i fredstid.[9]

Barnebarnet Oddmund Løkensgard Hoel ble i 2024 statsråd for høyere utdanning og forskning.[10][11]
