Khalil Elijah Murdock, detto Red (Petersburg, 24 settembre 2003), è un giocatore di football americano statunitense che milita nel ruolo di linebacker per i Denver Broncos della National Football League (NFL).
Carriera universitaria
Murdock giocò a football con i Buffalo Bulls dal 2022 al 2025. Durante la stagione 2023 totalizzò 60 tackle, due sack e quattro fumble forzati.[1]
Nella settimana 4 del 2024, fece registrare 12 tackle e un fumble forzato in una vittoria ai tempi supplementari contro Northern Illinois.[2] Terminò la stagione con 156 tackle, 2 sack, un intercetto, sette fumble forzati ed un touchdown.[3] I sette fumble forzati gli valsero il primato NCAA per la stagione, e i 156 tackle furono secondi solo al compagno di squadra Shaun Dolac.[4]
Nella stagione 2025, in una vittoria contro Bowling Green, Murdock sorpassò il record NCAA per fumble forzati in carriera appartenente a Khalil Mack.[5]
Carriera professionistica
Denver Broncos
Red Murdock venne selezionato ultimo (257ª scelta assoluta) nel Draft NFL 2026 dai Denver Broncos, divenendo Mr. Irrelevant per quella stagione.[6] Il 7 maggio Murdock firmò il suo contratto da rookie con i Broncos, un accordo quadriennale da 4,5 milioni di dollari comprensivi di un bonus alla firma di 122 000 dollari.[7] [8]
