Dillon Thieneman (Westfield, 8 agosto 2004) è un giocatore di football americano canadese che milita nel ruolo di safety per i Chicago Bears della National Football League (NFL).

Carriera universitaria

Purdue

Thieneman fu nominato safety titolare già nella sua prima stagione a Purdue nel 2023.[1] Nella sua prima partita fece registrare 10 tackle e un intercetto, venendo premiato come debuttante della settimana della Big Ten Conference freshman of the week honors.[2] Nel turno successivo contro Virginia Tech mise a segno un altro intercetto.[3] Nel sesto turno totalizzò 8 placcaggi e un intercetto nella sconfitta contro Iowa, venendo premiato di nuovo come freshman della settimana della Big Ten.[4][5] Nell’ultimo turno mise a segno due intercetti e 8 tackle nella vittoria su Indiana, venendo premiato come debuttante della settimana per la quinta volta, un record per un difensore.[6] A fine anno fu premiato come Thompson-Randle El Freshman of the Year come miglior rookie della Big Ten, dopo avere stabilito i record di Purdue per un debuttante per intercetti (6) e tackle solitari (74).[7] L’11 dicembre fu inserito nella terza formazione All-American dall’Associated Press.[8]

Oregon

Il 4 dicembre 2024 Thieneman annunciò che avrebbe cambiato istituto.[9] Passò l’ultima stagione nel college football con gli Oregon Ducks, venendo inserito nella prima formazione All-American dopo avere disputato tutte le 15 partite, con 96 tackle, un sack, 2 intercetti e 5 passaggi deviati.[10]

Carriera professionistica
