Gold Digger הוא הסינגל השני מתוך האלבום Late Registration של אמן ההיפ הופ האמריקאי, קניה וסט, ומשתתף בו הזמר והשחקן ג'יימי פוקס. השיר הגיע למקום ה-1 במצעד הבילבורד הוט 100, והוא מכיל אינטרפולציה מהשיר "I Got a Woman" של הזמר ריי צ'ארלס שממנה שר ג'יימי פוקס. Gold Digger הגיע למעמד פלטינה כפולה.

רקע

לאחר השקתו, רבים שיערו כי וסט הגה את הרעיון של Gold Digger לאחר שצפה בתיאור של ג'יימי פוקס בסרט הביוגרפי של ריי צ'ארלס, Ray. עם זאת, וסט למעשה יצר את הקצב של השיר עוד לפני שהסרט הופק. וסט הקליט והפיק את Gold Digger בביתו של הזמר והמפיק לודאקריס באטלנטה בשנת 2004 בשביל אלבום הבכורה של הראפרית "שוואנה", והפזמון נכתב מנקודת מבט נשית בגוף ראשון. עם זאת, מסיבות לא ידועות, שוואנה החליטה לא להשתמש בשיר. לאחר מכן וסט כתב מחדש את השיר מנקודת מבט של דובר זכר.

בשיר מתאר וסט בביקורתיות את החיים ההרסניים של גבר שנשוי לאישה שמתמרנת אותו למטרות רווח כספי. עם זאת, סיפור אחר עולה בבית השלישי, המתאר זכר שחור שמרוויח הון ומחליט לעזוב את חברתו הנאמנה והלא אנוכית עבור בחורה לבנה.
