Milagre

Un milagre é un feito extraordinario, sobrenatural, atribuído a algunha orixe divina, e que realiza ou ben esta divindade ou ben unha persoa intermediaria (un santo, un pastor, un profeta...). A interpretación dos milagres non é científica e depende sempre de cuestións de fe relixiosa. Sitúase pois no ámbito das crenzas, e non da realidade.

Historia e interpretación

O milagre nace dun acontecemento que é difícil explicar cos coñecementos científicos dunha época dada. Así, en distintos cultos as eclipses foron milagres, ou o contacto con novas poboacións de tribos distintas, as curacións súpetas de individuos supostamente enfermos... É complexo explicar de xeito científico moitos destes milagres doutro tempo, principalmente porque a maioría dos milagres son relatos escritos, sobre os que non se conservan testemuñas vivas.

Os milagres son obxecto de controversia por esta razón, e opóñense ao seu redor os pensamentos relixiosos e esotéricos, dunha banda, e os racionalistas, doutra. En esoterismo, manéxanse dous conceptos diferentes:

Así, son milagres as transformacións propias dos deuses gregos, como as operadas por Narciso ou por Leda, ao igual có son as dez pragas de Exipto, o dioivo, a resurrección de Lázaro, a multiplicación dos pans e dos peixes ou outros famosos exemplos da tradición xudeucristiá ou unicamente cristiá.

Na actualidade, e no contexto da relixión católica, os milagres son elementos imprescindíbeis nos procesos de beatificación e santificación, é dicir, nas vías polas que unha persoa, xa defunta, pasa a engrosar a lista dos venerábeis que merecen adoración como transmisores do catolicismo.
