Daniel O'Connell (irlanderaz: Dónal Ó Conaill; 1776ko abuztuaren 6a, Cahersiveen, Kerryko konderria – 1847ko maiatzaren 15a), Askatzailea (The Liberator) ere ezagutua izan zen, XIX. mendearen lehen erdialdeko Irlandako pertsonaia politiko garrantzitsuena izan zen. Bortizkeria erabiltzen zuten Irlandaren aldeko altxamenduekiko oso kritikoa izan zen, uhartearen askatasunak odol tanta bat bera ere balio ez zuela esateraino iritsi zelarik. Betiere aldaketa politikoa lortzeko asmoz metodo populista edo herrikoi eta parlamentarioak erabili zituen.

1828ko uztailean O’ Connellek gehiengo handi batekin Ingalaterrako gobernu hautagaia garaitu zuen, halere Test Act delako legeak amankomunen ganberarako sarrera galarazi zion. Nahiz eta matxinada eta istiluen beldur izan, tory gobernuak 1829an onartutako Test Act legearen aurkako proposamena har zezan behartuarazi zuen.
