Orbita domineco

En astronomio la orbita domineco estas karakteriza nombro de ĉiu korpo orbitanta ĉirkaŭ alia. Ĝi estas difinita kiel la rilatumo inter la maso de la korpo kaj la masoj de ĉiuj aliaj objektoj en ĝia orbito, escepte de tiuj sinkronaj al ĝi. Sinkronaj objektoj estas satelitoj (lunoj), sed ankaŭ objektoj en punktoj de Lagrange.

La orbita domineco estis proponita de Steven Soter[1] kiel kriterio de la planedeco de astro: Nur astroj kun domineco pli granda ol 1 (kiuj do havas pli da maso ol ĉiuj aliaj samorbitaj) estu planedoj. Tio estas sufiĉe klara kriterio, ĉar la plej malgranda planeda domineco, tiu de Urano, estas 24.000, do konsiderinde pli granda ol 1. Simila kriterio estas la parametro de Stern-Levison[2], difinita kiel la rilatumo inter la kvadrata planeda maso kaj la orbita periodo.
