Η Αμερικανική Σαμόα (ή Αμερικανικές Σαμόα, σαμόα: Amerika Sāmoa, αγγλικά: American Samoa‎‎) είναι μια μη ενσωματωμένη περιοχή των Η. Π. Α. που βρίσκεται στον νότιο Ειρηνικό ωκεανό νοτιοανατολικά της ανεξάρτητης Σαμόα. Έχει πληθυσμό 49.710[1] κατοίκους σύμφωνα με την απογραφή του 2020 και έκταση 199 τ.χλμ.. Ο απερχόμενος Αμερικανός πρόεδρος Τζορτζ Μπους ανακοίνωσε στις αρχές του 2009 τη θεσμοθέτηση της μεγαλύτερης προστατευόμενης θαλάσσιας έκτασης του κόσμου σε τρεις απομακρυσμένες περιοχές του Ειρηνικού ωκεανού, ανάμεσα στις οποίες και η ατόλλη Ρόουζ, στην Αμερικανική Σαμόα[3].

Ο πληθυσμός της χώρας είναι 49.710[1] κατοίκους σύμφωνα με την απογραφή του 2020. Ο ρυθμός αύξησης του πληθυσμού είναι -2,1% (εκτίμηση 2021). Ρυθμός γεννήσεων 17,19 γεννήσεις/1000 πληθυσμού και θανάτου 6,0 θάνατοι/1000 πληθυσμού (εκτίμηση 2021). Το προσδόκιμο ζωής στο σύνολο του πληθυσμού ήταν σύμφωνα με εκτιμήσεις του 2021 τα 75,1 χρόνια (72,6 χρόνια οι άνδρες και 77,7 οι γυναίκες)[2].

Οικονομία

Το ΑΕΠ της χώρας είναι 575,3 εκατομμύρια δολάρια ΗΠΑ (εκτίμηση 2007). Το κατά κεφαλήν ΑΕΠ είναι 8.000$.

Πολιτική

Κυβερνήτης είναι ο Λεμάνου Πελέτι Μάουγκα, από τις 3 Ιανουαρίου 2021 με αντικυβερνήτη τον Σάλο Άλε.
