Lage des Gemeindeverbandes
in der Region Grand Est

Eurométropole de Metz (offiziell: Metz Métropole) ist ein französischer Gemeindeverband mit der Rechtsform einer Métropole im Département Moselle in der Region Grand Est. Sie wurde am 1. Januar 2014 gegründet und umfasst 46 Gemeinden (Stand: 1. Januar 2023). Der Verwaltungssitz befindet sich in der Stadt Metz.[2]

Historische Entwicklung

Der ursprünglich als Communauté d’agglomération Metz Métropole gegründete Verband wurde mit Wirkung vom 1. Januar 2018 in die Rechtsform einer Métropole erhoben und auf die Bezeichnung Metz Métropole umbenannt. Seit 2021 trägt der Gemeindeverband den aktuellen inoffiziellen Namen.[3]

Mit Wirkung vom 1. Januar 2022 verließ die Gemeinde Roncourt die Communauté de communes du Pays Orne Moselle und schloss sich diesem Gemeindeverband an.[4]

Mit Wirkung vom 1. Januar 2023 verließ die Gemeinde Lorry-Mardigny die Communauté de communes Mad et Moselle und schloss sich diesem Gemeindeverband an.[5]
