Mazmur 140 (disingkat Maz 140, Mzm 140 atau Mz 140; penomoran Septuaginta: Mazmur 139) adalah sebuah mazmur dalam bagian ke-5 Kitab Mazmur di Alkitab Ibrani dan Perjanjian Lama dalam Alkitab Kristen.[1] Digubah oleh Daud.[2][3]

Ayat 2

Luputkanlah aku, ya TUHAN, daripada manusia jahat,
jagalah aku terhadap orang yang melakukan kekerasan.[5]

חלצני יהוה מאדם רע מאיש חמסים תנצרני׃

Transliterasi Ibrani:

ḥal·lə·ṣê·nî Yah·weh mê·’ā·ḏām rā‘
mê·’îš ḥă·mā·sîm tin·ṣə·rê·nî.

Tradisi Yahudi

Penomoran ayat

Dalam Alkitab bahasa Indonesia, mazmur ini terdiri dari 14 ayat, di mana ayat 1 adalah pengantar "Untuk pemimpin biduan. Mazmur Daud." (versi Terjemahan Baru dari Lembaga Alkitab Indonesia). Dalam Alkitab bahasa Inggris, kalimat pengantar ini tidak diberi nomor ayat, sehingga seluruhnya hanya ada 13 ayat, di mana ayat 1 bahasa Inggris sama dengan ayat 2 bahasa Indonesia dan seterusnya.
