Lempuyang atau lempuyang wangi (Zingiber zerumbet (L.) Roscoe ex Sm., sin. Z. aromaticum Valeton) adalah sejenis rempah-rempah yang berkhasiat obat. Rimpangnya dimanfaatkan sebagai campuran obat. Lempuyang atau puyang adalah salah satu bahan utama jamu yang cukup populer, jamu cabe puyang.

Lempuyang diketahui mampu menginduksi apoptosis sel-sel kanker. Hasil kajian di Jepang menemukan bahwa ekstrak rimpang lempuyang dapat menekan pertumbuhan sel-sel melanoma pada mencit percobaan. Efek penekanan (inhibitor) diketahui terjadi melalui penghambatan terhadap ekspresi gen tirosinase pada sel melanoma.[2]

Bunga dan rimpang Lempuyang Wangi memiliki kemampuan antibakteri terhadap bakteri Porphyromonas gingivalis. Bakteri P. gingivalis merupakan bakteri penghasil plak biofilm pemicu periodontitis.[3]
