恐龍型類（學名：Dinosauriformes）意為「恐龍」+「外型」，是鳥頸類主龍的一個演化支，包含恐龍與其最近親，因此不包含恐龙形态类（Dinosauromorpha）的基礎物種。恐龍型類的鑑定特徵包含：較短的前肢、至少部份開口的髖臼（Acetabulum）。其中，馬拉鱷龍、兔鱷、偽兔鱷生存於三疊紀拉丁尼階的阿根廷。西里龍生存於卡尼階的波蘭^[1]^[2]。塞龍生存於諾利階的巴西^[3]。

1992年，費爾南多·諾瓦斯建立該分類單元，並建立演化支定義。奧尼拉斯·諾瓦斯當時將這名稱包含恐龍與艾雷拉龍下目，諾瓦斯認為艾雷拉龍下目不屬於恐龍。之後的大部分古動物學家，將艾雷拉龍下目歸類於恐龍，而將恐龍型類包含恐龍與其最近親。
