1960 Avrupa Uluslar Kupası'nın için yapılan eleme aşamaları;

Turnuvaya 17 takım katılma kararı aldı. 16 takımlı bir eleme sisteminin oluşturulması adına Çekoslovakya ve İrlanda arasında bir eleme maçı oynandı. İrlanda'yı geride bırakan Çekler, üst tura çıkma hakkı kazandılar. Birinci turda 16 takım ikili eşleşerek sekize çeyrek finalde ise dörde düştü.

Çeyrek finalde SSCB ile eşleşen İspanya'nın faşist diktatörü Franco'nun komünist SSCB'yle karşılaşmayı reddetmesi sonucunda turnuvadan çekilmesiyle SSCB doğrudan yarı finale yükseldi.
