入江家（いりえけ）は、藤原北家御子左流の公家・華族である^[1]。公家としての家格は羽林家、華族としての家格は子爵家。

歴史

冷泉家の分家藤谷家の支流で権中納言藤谷為条の末子・相尚を祖とする^[1]。江戸時代の石高は30石3人扶持。家学は歌道^[2]。菩提寺は真如寺だった^[1]。

明治維新後の明治2年に公家と大名家が華族として統合されると入江家も公家として華族に列し、明治17年（1884年）7月7日の華族令の施行で華族が五爵制になると、同8日に大納言直任の例がない旧堂上家^{[注釈 1]}として入江為守（上冷泉家の冷泉為紀の実弟）が子爵を授けられた^[4]。

為守は貴族院議員の子爵議員に3回当選した他、東宮侍従長として大正天皇に仕えた^[5]。また、為守の三男の入江相政は長らく侍従長として昭和天皇に近侍した。

注釈

^ 中納言からそのまま大納言になることを直任といい、中納言を一度辞してから大納言になるより格上の扱いと見なされていた。叙爵内規は歴代当主の中にこの大納言直任の例があるか否かで平堂上家を伯爵家か子爵家かに分けていた^[3]。
