יששכר בֶּר ריבַּק (ביידיש: בער ריבאַק; בכתב לטיני: Issachar Ber Ryback;‏ 2 בפברואר 1897 – 22 בדצמבר 1935) היה צייר יהודי אוקראיני-צרפתי, שהתפרסם בעיקר בציורי השטעטל היהודי שלו.

קורות חיים

יששכר בר ריבק נולד בשנת 1897 ביליסבטגרד שבפלך חֶרסון, דרום-מערב רוסיה (כיום קרופיבניצקי, באוקראינה). אביו היה מנהל חשבונות, משכיל ממשפחה חסידית. התפתחותו של ריבק הייתה איטית, ורק בגיל תשע הגיע לרמת דיבור שאפשרה את שליחתו ללימודים ב"חדר". הוא למד ב"חדר" במשך שנה, ובגיל 11 החל ללמוד ציור, ובשנת 1909 הצטרף לקואופרטיב שעסק בציור במבני ציבור ובכנסיות.

בשנים 1911–1916 למד בבית ספר לאמנות בקייב, בין השאר אצל הציירים אלכסנדר בוגומזוב ואלכסנדרה אֶקסטר. היה חבר בקבוצה שעמה נמנו בוריס ארונסון, אלכסנדר טישלר, סולומון ניקריטין (אנ') ומארק אפשטיין, שלימים התפרסמו כציירים. הושפע מפעילי תרבות יהודית כדוד ברגלסון ודוד הופשטיין (לימים היו שניהם בין הרוגי המלכות בברית המועצות). בשנת 1915 הציג לראשונה מציוריו, בתערוכת הסתיו של קייב. בשנת 1916 עבד עם אל ליסיצקי על איסוף אמנות יהודית בעיירות היהודיות באוקראינה וברוסיה הלבנה. בסתיו 1917 השתתף בתערוכה של אמנות יהודית במוסקבה וזכה לשבחים. במהלך מהפכת אוקטובר (1917) נטל חלק בפעילות להגדרת אוונגרד בתרבות יידיש, ולשם כך עבר למוסקבה.

לאחר שאביו נרצח בפרעות פטליורה, נמלט ריבק באפריל 1921 לקובנה, וכעבור חצי שנה קיבל אשרה לגרמניה. הוא שהה בברלין עד 1924. נמנה עם קבוצת נובמבר והציג יצירות קוביסטיות. אייר את הספר ביידיש "מאיסעלעך פאר קליינינקע קינדערלעך" (סיפורים לילדים קטנים) מאת מרים מרגולין-ייבין. כמו כן יצר טיוטה לסמליל של ארגון אורט, ששכן באותה עת בברלין.

ב-1925 שב לברית המועצות ועסק בעיצוב תפאורה לתיאטרון היהודי במוסקבה ובחרקוב. ב-1926 היגר לפריז ולא חזר עוד לברית המועצות. הציג מיצירותיו בגלריות בצרפת. סגנון הציור שלו השתנה לאקספרסיוניזם של אסכולת פריז. תערוכות נוספות שלו נערכו בהאג, ברוטרדם, בבריסל ובאנטוורפן.

עקב החמרה במצב בריאותו[1] אושפז במשך חודשים אחדים, ונפטר ב-22 בדצמבר 1935, בגיל 38. לאחר פטירתו נערכה בפריז רטרוספקטיבה של יצירתו.

מרבית היצירות שהותיר מוצגות בבית ריבק שבשכונת רמת יוסף בבת ים, שהוקם כמוזיאון וכבית מגורים לאלמנתו, סוניה ריבק.[2]
