Wò hǔ cáng lóng (título orixinal: 臥虎藏龍) que en galego significa "Tigre agazapado, Dragón agochado"; é un filme wuxia (de acción, aventuras e artes marciais) dirixido por Ang Lee en 2000. É unha coprodución entre China, Hong Kong, Taiwán e Estados Unidos e a lingua orixinal é o mandarín. Está protagonizado por estrelas do cine de etnia chinesa, incluíndo a Chow Yun-fat, Michelle Yeoh, Zhang Ziyi e Chang Chen. O filme baséase na novela Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon do escritor de literatura wuxia Wang Dulu. As escenas de artes marciais e as de acción son froito das coreografías de Yuen Wo Ping.

Sinopse

É unha historia ficticia, situada no período da Dinastía Qing na China, aproximadamente durante o reinado do Emperador Qianlong (arredor de 1680).

Os protagonistas da historia son dous experimentados e famosos mestres en artes marciais, Li Mu Bai (Chow Yun-fat) e Yu Shu Lien (Michelle Yeoh). Os dous están namorados, pero cren que non poden estar xuntos porque Shu Lien é a viúva do mellor amigo de Mu Bai. Por outra parte, Jen (Zhang Ziyi), filla do Gobernador Yu de Manchuria (Fa Zeng Li), desexa desesperadamente ter a vida emocionante e chea de aventuras dun guerreiro. Polo que de xeito secreto, Jen convértese na alumna da malvada guerreira "Raposa de Xade" (Cheng Pei-pei), de quen Mu Bai xurou vingarse xa que matou o seu mestre. Mu Bai vai na busca da súa lendaria espada, "A espada celestial", que roubou Jen. Jen loita contra Mu Bai en varias ocasións, e pese a superioridade de Mu Bai, el rexeita matala porque quere adestrala como aprendiz. Jen tamén loita contra Shu Lien, quen intenta ensinarlle os valores do amor e a amizade. Pero Jen non se deixa convencer polo seu amor prohibido co bandido do deserto Lo (Chang Chen), e rexeita a axuda de Mu Bai e Shu Lien.
