Goyaałé, máis coñecido como Gerónimo[1] ou Xerónimo,[2] nado en xuño de 1829 e finado o 17 de febreiro de 1909, foi un xefe dos apaches de Norteamérica. O seu nome en lingua chiricahua significa «un que bocexa», nome que o seu pai lle deu debido a que de pequeno estaba canso a miúdo.

Destacou como líder apache nos enfrontamentos destes coas autoridades de Estados Unidos e México. Xerónimo foi un guerreiro de Cochise e posteriormente opúxose a el cando se firmaron os acordos cos americanos. Fíxose o máis famoso dos chamados "indios renegados". Resistiu heroicamente, pero rendeuse cando viu a visión dun tren que atravesaba a súa terra. Foi arrestado e estivo 22 anos en prisión ata a data da súa morte.[3]
