Andrés Manuel López Obrador, nado en Tepetitán, Macuspana, Tabasco o 13 de novembro de 1953, coñecido comunmente como AMLO, é un político, politicólogo e escritor mexicano. É Presidente de México dende o 1 de decembro de 2018.[1]

Foi candidato á presidencia de México nas eleccións federais en México de 2018[2][3] pola coalición «Xuntos Faremos Historia», conformada por Movemento Rexeneración Nacional (Morena), o Partido do Traballo (PT) e o Partido Encontro Social (PES).[4][5][6] Tras presentarse os resultados preliminares da elección, é pronunciado como o gañador electoral co 53,19 % dos votos e asumiu a presidencia o 1 de decembro.

Durante a súa carreira política desempeñouse como presidente nacional do Partido da Revolución Democrática (PRD) de 1996 a 1999, Xefe de Goberno do Distrito Federal de 2000 a 2005, candidato á presidencia de México pola Coalición Polo Ben de Todos nas eleccións federais de 2006 e pola coalición Movemento Progresista nas eleccións de 2012.[7][8]

Como Xefe de Goberno do Distrito Federal os seus niveis de aprobación son os máis altos rexistrados en devandita entidade, alcanzando avaliacións anuais de desempeño por enriba do 85% de aprobación dos cidadáns ademais nunha enquisa da fundación londiniense City Mayors nomeárono o segundo mellor alcalde do mundo.[9][10][11][12]
