Tubettaja

Tubettaja (engl. YouTuber) on henkilö, joka tuottaa videosisältöä verkkoon yksin tai ryhmässä. Termi viittaa YouTube-videopalveluun, jonne sisältö suosituimpana suoratoistovideopalveluna useimmiten ladataan[1], mutta yleiskielessä termi on levinnyt tarkoittamaan myös muihin verkkopalveluihin videosisältöä tuottavia henkilöitä. Tubettamisesta on muodostunut 2010-luvulla globaalia nuorisokulttuuria.[2]

Tubettamisen ympärille on muodostunut myös erilaisia tapahtumia, kuten vuosien aikana tuhansia nuoria Helsingin Hartwall Areenalle kerännyt Tubecon sekä maailmalla satoja tuhansia kävijöitä kerännyt VidCon.[3]

Osa suosituista tubettajista elättää itsensä videoiden tekemisellä.[4] Suurituloisin tubettaja YouTubessa vuonna 2019 oli kahdeksanvuotias Ryan Kaji, joka tekee vanhempiensa ja sisarustensa kanssa leluarvosteluja. Hän ansaitsi 26 miljoonaa dollaria vuodessa. Hän oli suurituloisin myös sitä edellisenä vuonna. Tyypillisesti yhdessä isänsä kanssa esiintyvä viisivuotias Anastasija Radzinskaja ansaitsi 18 miljoonaa dollaria.[5][6]
