Mielenosoittajia Admiraltyn alueella 10. lokakuuta 2014.

Hongkongin mielenosoitukset 2014 alkoivat syyskuussa 2014 kun laajempaa itsehallintoa ja kansalaisoikeuksia vaativat mielenosoittajat osoittivat tyytymättömyyttä päätökseen, ettei Hongkongin erityishallintoalueen johtajaa valita vapaissa vaaleissa.[1] Mielenosoittajat ovat vaatineet, että Hongkongissa järjestetään vapaat vaalit vuonna 2017. Nykyisen järjestelmän mukaan ehdokkaiksi pääsevät kuitenkin vain ne ehdokkaat, jotka Kiinan keskushallinto hyväksyy.[2]
