Mwimbi ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Kalambo in der tansanischen Region Rukwa.

Geografie

Mwimbi ist ein ländlicher Bezirk im Westen des südlichen Hochlands von Tansania etwa 80 Kilometer Luftlinie südlich der Regionshauptstadt Sumbawanga an der Grenze zu Sambia.[2] Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 15.686 Menschen in 3308 Haushalten[3] auf einer Fläche von 304 Quadratkilometern.[4]

Der Bezirk grenzt im Südwesten an Sambia und sonst an Bezirke des Distrikts Kalambo:[5]

Wirtschaft und Infrastruktur

  • Viehzucht: Im Bezirk werden 6500 Rinder, 1200 Ziegen und 5500 Hühner gehalten.[7]
  • Bildung: Die Mwimbi Secondary School ist eine staatliche weiterführende Tagesschule mit einer Ausbildung bis zur 4. Stufe.[8]
  • Gesundheit: In der Gemeinde Mwimbi liegt ein staatliches Gesundheitszentrum,[9] in Selengoma eine staatliche[10] und in Chipapa eine private Apotheke.[11]
