Mwazye ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Kalambo in der tansanischen Region Rukwa.

Geografie

Mwazye ist ein ländlicher Bezirk im Westen des südlichen Hochlands von Tansania, er liegt etwa 50 Kilometer Luftlinie südsüdöstlich der Regionshauptstadt Sumbawanga.[2] Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 11.981 Menschen in 2662 Haushalten[3] auf einer Fläche von 138 Quadratkilometern.[4]

Der Bezirk grenzt von Nordwesten bis Osten an den Distrikt Sumbawanga und sonst an zwei Bezirke des Distrikts Kalambo:[5]

Wirtschaft und Infrastruktur

  • Landwirtschaft: Im Bezirk werden 3000 Rinder, 1200 Ziegen und 3000 Hühner gehalten (Stand 2016).[7]
  • Bildung: Die Mwazye Secondary School ist eine staatliche weiterführende Schule. Sie bildet Tages- und Internatsschüler bis zur 6. Stufe aus.[8]
  • Gesundheit: Im Bezirk gibt es drei Apotheken, je eine staatliche in den Gemeinden Kazila[9] und Mwazye[10] und eine private ebenfalls in Mwazye.[11]
