Kisumba ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Kalambo in der tansanischen Region Rukwa.

Geografie

Kisumba ist ein ländlicher Bezirk im westlichen Teil des südlichen Hochlands von Tansania nahe dem Tanganjikasee.[2] Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 8694 Menschen in 1908 Haushalten[3] auf einer Fläche von 339 Quadratkilometern.[4]

Der Bezirk grenzt im Nordwesten und Nordosten an den Distrikt Nkasi und sonst an fünf Bezirke des Distrikts Kalambo:[5]

Wirtschaft und Infrastruktur

  • Landwirtschaft: Im Bezirk werden 1100 Rinder, 1000 Ziegen und 2800 Hühner gehalten (Stand 2016).[7]
  • Bildung: Die Chisenga Secondary School ist eine staatliche weiterführende Schule. Sie bildet Tages- und Internatsschüler bis zur 4. Stufe aus.[8]
  • Gesundheit: In den Gemeinden Kisumba,[9] Kafukoka[10] und Kasote[11] liegt je eine staatliche Apotheke.
