Igaga ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Kishapu in der tansanischen Region Shinyanga.

Geografie

Igaga ist ein ländlicher Bezirk im Nordwesten von Tansania. Der Bezirk liegt rund 40 Kilometer Luftlinie östlich der Regionshauptstadt Shinyanga.[2] Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 6470 Menschen in 923 Haushalten[3] auf einer Fläche von 67 Quadratkilometern.[4]

Der Bezirk grenzt an sechs Bezirke des Distrikts Kishapu:[5]

Der Bezirk besteht aus drei Gemeinden (swahili Mtaa) mit 15 Orten (Kitongoji):[6]

Infrastruktur

  • Bildung: Im Bezirk gibt es keine weiterführende Schule.[7]
  • Gesundheitseinrichtungen: In der Gemeinde Igaga B liegt eine staatliche Apotheke.[8]
  • Gebäude: Von den 1050 Gebäuden im Bezirk haben 63 einen Stromanschluss von Tanesco und 226 Strom aus anderen Quellen wie Solarzellen und Generatoren. Elf Gebäude besitzen einen Wasseranschluss (Stand 2022).[9]
  • Verkehr: Durch den Norden des Bezirks verläuft die unbefestigte Fernstraße T37, die von Shinyanga nach Simiyu führt.[10]
