Bellioidea ist eine Überfamilie der Krabben. Sie sind kleine, kompakte Küstenkrabben, die vor allem in der gemäßigten Klimazone der Südhalbkugel auftreten.[1]

Merkmale

Bellioidea haben einen längs- bis querovalen Carapax. Die Antenne ist auf ein Antennenglied reduziert, das am Ende eine Borste oder kleine Geißel trägt, die kürzer als die Cornea ist. Die Mundhöhle ist etwa quadratisch. Der Merus des dritten Maxillipeden ist rundlich bis unregelmäßig rechteckig. Die Somiten 3 bis 5 des Pleons sind bei Männchen verschmolzen. Das erste Gonopodium ist kräftig.[1]
