Die Karasee (Russies: Ка́рское мо́ре, Karskoye more) is 'n see van die Arktiese Oseaan in Noord-Rusland tussen Nowaja Zemlja in die weste, Franz Josef-land in die noordweste, Sewernaja Zemlja in die noordooste en die vasteland van Siberië in die suide. Die Karasee grens aan die Barentssee in die weste, die Arktiese Oseaan in die noorde en die Laptefsee in die ooste. Die see het 'n oppervlakte van sowat 880 000 km² en 'n gemiddelde diepte van 127 m.[1] Die see is genoem ná die Kararivier; Kara beteken "gedempte ys" in die Nenets-taal.

Belangrike riviere wat in die Karasee uitmond is die Jenisej en Ob. Die see is nege maande lank gevries, maar het groot potensiaal as visvanggebied – alhoewel die vangseisoen beperk bly tot die maande Augustus en September waanneer die see ysvry en maklik bevaarbaar is.[2][3]
