Douglas DC-3 Uçağı

R-2000, üretim maliyetlerini ve yakıt gereksinimlerini azaltmaya odaklanan, Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp'ın genişletilmiş bir versiyonuydu. Motoru silindir çapı, 146 mm'ye (5.75 inç) yükseltilirken, strok 140 mm'yi (5.5 inç) korudu. Yer değiştirme 2,000 in3(32.8 l) olmuştur R-1830'da, arkaya monte manyetolar yerine öne monte edilmiş, krank mili için makaralı rulmanlar, yerine düz rulmanlar tercih edilmiştir. Savaş zamanı 100 oktan arzının yetersiz kalacağına dair korkular olduğu için 87 oktan yakıt gibi bir dizi ayrıntı değişikliği yapıldı. R-2000, 87 oktan ile 2,700 rpm'de 1,300 hp, 100 oktanla 1,350 hp üretmektedir.[1][2]
