Peter Bu (* 26. máj 1940, Bratislava – † 24. marec 2022, Poissy) bol slovenský divadelný kritik, teoretik a organizátor divadelných festivalov.[1] Bol členom francúzskej strany zelených a slobodomurárskeho rádu Veľký Orient Francúzska. V roku 1993 obnovil slobodné murárstvo na Slovensku, konkrétne lóžu Humanizmus.[2]

Životopis

Peter Bu sa narodil 26. mája v Bratislave. Vyštudoval dramaturgiu na Vysokej škole múzických umení v Bratislave. Neskôr pôsobil ako divadelný kritik a teoretik. Od roku 1963 do roku 1968 bol zamestnancom Slovenskej akadémie vied.[3] Titul kandidáta vied získal v decembri 1968.

V rokoch 1968 – 1972 pokračoval v štúdiu na Parížskej univerzite, kde sa zameral na dejiny sovietskej politiky. V neprítomnosti bol v Česko-Slovensku odsúdený na dva roky väzenia za „nenavrátenie zo zahraničia“.[4] V roku 1975 získal francúzske občianstvo.[5]

V mene Francúzskeho inštitútu režíroval divadelné podujatia vo Francúzsku, Nemecku, Holandsku, Belgicku, Tunisku, Maroku[6] a v bývalom Česko-Slovensku.[7] Na Avignonskom festivale v roku 1977[8] mal na starosti programovú sekciu mímov a klaunov. Bol umeleckým riaditeľom ďalších festivalov pantomímy, pouličných predstavení a predstavení pre deti.

V rokoch 1987 až 2002 bol riaditeľom Medzinárodného festivalu pantomímy v Périgueux – Mimos.[9]

V rokoch 1972 – 2007 bol usporiadateľom divadelných zájazdov a početných festivalov vo Francúzsku a v iných európskych mestách, venovaných najmä pohybovému divadlu, umeniu pre deti, alebo predstaveniam vo verejných priestoroch: ulice, ale aj továrenské haly, nádražia a pod.

Rok 2007 ho spája s marseillskou kandidatúrou o titul „Hlavné európske kultúrne mesto 2013“, za ktorého slovenskú časť zodpovedal.

Zomrel 24. marca 2022 vo francúzskom meste Poissy vo veku 81 rokov.[10][11]

Slobodné murárstvo

Slobodomurárstvo bolo v Česko-Slovensku zakázané v rokoch 1938 až 1945 a opäť po komunistickom prevrate v roku 1948.[12] Od roku 1989 Veľký Orient Francúzska pracoval na obnove slobodomurárstva v krajinách strednej a východnej Európy. V roku 1993 sa Peter Bu na žiadosť Jacquesa Oreficea, hodnostára Veľkého Orientu Francúzska, podieľal na znovuzavedení slobodomurárstva na Slovensku a bol jedným zo zakladateľov lóže Humanizmus.[2]
