The Chairman (sh. Predsjednik ili Predsjedatelj) je britansko-američki špijunski film snimljen 1969. godine u režiji J. Lee Thompsona. Protagonist, čiji lik tumači Gregory Peck, je naučnik koga američka i britanska vlada angažiraju za špijunsku misiju u komunističkoj Kini, gdje bi od tamošnjeg naučnika, čiji lik tumači Keye Luke trebao dobiti informacije o enzimu koji eksponenicijalno potiče prinose poljoprivrednih kultura i može riješiti problem gladi u svijetu. Radnja prikazuje kako je tokom misije, prilikom koje će se susresti s tadašnjim kineskim vođom Mao Zedongom (čiji lik tumači Conrad Yama sa sobom u glavi nosi skriveni uređaj, ne znajući da on sadrži eksploziv koji ga na signal njegovih nalogodavac može ubiti. The Chairman je napravljen u vrijeme eskalacije sovjetsko-kineskog sukoba, a kada se na Zapadu komunistička Kina sa svojom radikalno lijevom maoističkom ideologijom smatrala daleko većom opasnošću od Sovjeta, pa se to odrazilo i na scenarij, koji sadrži scene u kojima Sovjeti surađuju sa Britancima i Amerikancima. Usprkos aktualne teme, The Chairman je loše prošao u kino-dvoranama, iako je kompozitor Jerry Goldsmith dobio pohvale za svoj soundtrack.
