"Don't Know What to Tell Ya" é uma canção gravada pela cantora norte-americana Aaliyah. Foi escrita por Static Major e Timbaland para o terceiro álbum de estúdio da cantora (2001) porém acabou ficando de fora da lista de faixas. Após a morte de Aaliyah, a canção foi incluída em sua primeira coletânea póstuma I Care 4 U (2002). Eventualmente, "Don't Know What to Tell Ya" foi lançada como segundo single da coletânea em 11 de fevereiro de 2003 pela Blackground Records e Universal Records.

Composição

"Don't Know What to Tell Ya" foi descrita como tendo uma "sensação noir-funk que evoca Blade Runner" e contém um sample da canção árabe "Batwannis Beek" da cantora argelina Warda Al-Jazairia.[1][2][3] Na música, Aaliyah está contando uma história sobre um relacionamento fracassado e abusivo.[4]

Recepção da crítica

Arion Berger, da Rolling Stone, elogiou os vocais de Aaliyah na música, dizendo: "Sua voz doce e forte contorna a ambivalência em "Don't Know What to Tell Ya" e derrete as linhas finais na faixa".[5]
