Canada Women’s Sevens 2019 – piąta edycja wchodzącego w skład World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series turnieju Canada Women’s Sevens przeznaczonego dla żeńskich reprezentacji narodowych w rugby 7. Odbyła się w dniach 11–12 maja 2019 roku na Westhills Stadium w Langford będąc piątym turniejem sezonu 2018/2019.

Informacje ogólne

Rozegrane na Westhills Stadium zawody były piątym turniejem sezonu 2018/2019 World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series i wzięło w nich udział dwanaście reprezentacji – jedenastu stałych uczestników cyklu oraz zaproszona reprezentacja Brazylii[1]. Podział na grupy oraz rozkład gier zostały opublikowane przez World Rugby pod koniec kwietnia 2019 roku[2]. Drużyny rywalizowały w pierwszym dniu systemem kołowym podzielone na trzy czterozespołowe grupy, po czym w drugim dniu osiem najlepszych awansowało do ćwierćfinałów, a pozostałe cztery zmierzyły się w walce o Bowl[3][4]. Składy[5][6] i charakterystyki zespołów[7][8][9][10] oraz sędziowie zawodów[11].

W pierwszym dniu niepokonane były Australia, Nowa Zelandia oraz USA[12]. Docierając do półfinału Nowozelandki uzyskały pewność awansu do turnieju rugby 7 na Letnich Igrzyskach Olimpijskich 2020, w finale pokonały zaś Australijki triumfując w Kanadzie po raz trzeci z rzędu[13][14]. Najlepszą zawodniczką finału została uznana Tyla Nathan-Wong, zaś wyróżnienie DHL Impact Player otrzymała Brittany Benn[13]. Najwięcej przyłożeń zdobyły Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe i Ellia Green, w klasyfikacji punktowej wyprzedziła je natomiast Ghislaine Landry[15][16].
